Transport, Cranage & Lifting
Lorry crane, a local term used to refer to “Crane Mounted on a lorry”, is one of the most common vehicles engaged in the lifting and transporting cargoes throughout the island. Its popularity is synonymous with Singapore’s special condition – a high pace city nation with densely built up areas. This paved the way for the emergence of lorry cranes as it is small, agile and easily operated.
Foreseeing the growth of such form of transport in Singapore, Kim Soon Lee has since 2002, aggressively expanded and upgraded its lorry crane fleet. By 2023, the company has 75 units of such vehicles, with capacity ranging from 15 to 130 tonnes. So numerous are our vehicles that we are consistently ranked as the company owning the largest number of lorry cranes in Singapore. With a wide array of vehicles to choose from, Kim Soon Lee is able to appoint the right cranes for the right jobs, cutting wastage and optimizing crane utilization which in turn, translate into cost savings for our customers. In addition, our numerical superiority also gives us flexibility in vehicle deployment and allows us to accept and execute last minute job requests more effectively – another plus point where service is concerned.
Number aside, great emphasis is also placed on the quality and age of the lorry cranes. As of October 2023, 75 percent of our lorry cranes are 8 years or younger and 90 percent of them are fitted with remote controlled levers. 12 of the cranes even have detachable fly-jib with winch – reaching up to 45 metres high when all the booms are fully entended. More remarkably, Kim Soon Lee owns the largest Lorry Crane in Singapore to date – a 130 ton Erkin crane that is capable of lifting a single load of 38 tons.
